Call to Action
March is one of my favorite months. Not only is it my husband's birthday, but it is also Women's History Month. March is a significant time of year where we set aside time to celebrate all the accomplishments of women. Women's History Month is the time where we amplify our voices to honor the past, inform the present, and inspire the future.
What a time to be alive? I know the path that we are walking is long and sometimes lonely, but we are making strides and have a lot to celebrate.
Kathrine Johnson, a mathematician at NASA, died this month at 101. Johnson helped pave the way for future NASA achievements. She overcame obstacles and barriers to help pave a path for women who came after her.
Hulu named Kelly Campbell, their new CEO.
FedEx just named Ramona Hood, their first African American female CEO.
Women everywhere are making great strides and inspiring other women to do the same.
March 8th, we will celebrate International Women's Day. The theme for this year is Equal for Equal. An equal world is an enabled world.
I want to encourage you not only this month but every day to celebrate women's achievements. Raise awareness against bias and take action for equality.
Listen, sisters. The time is now. The time has come for us to stand arm and arm. The time has come for us to put away our judgments and petty differences about other women and instead stand up and support them. The time has come to give each other a helping hand up and champion one another.
What are you going to do this week, the month, this year, this decade to help other women?
Make today amazing because you are amazing!
