Attitude Adjustment



This week I am wrapping up Spring Clean Your Life with a look at attitude.

What attitude are you bringing to yourself? Your life? Others?

Do you need an Attitude Adjustment?

Have you ever had a time in your life when you decided to buy a new car? You have a particular model that catches your eye. Once you have decided in your mind that this is the car you want you to start to see more and more of those same cars on the? Before that, you never saw them. Or did you? There's an adage that what you focus on becomes bigger. This is true for your attitude.

When you surround yourself with anger, bitterness, contempt, resentment, these energies (remember everything is energy) will spill over into everything you say and do.

Think about the last time you had a negative attitude. It doesn't matter what is going on in your life; you see it through a negative lens.

Your mind continues to gather facts that are in support of your negative attitude.

At that moment it wouldn't matter if you just solved world peace. You would see it through that negative lens, and those negative emotions would be there.


Don't you want more for your life than to live your life through a negative lens? Maybe there is an area of your life where you consistently live with a negative attitude. Or perhaps there is someone with whom you have a negative attitude. Maybe it's time for an Attitude Adjustment.

I love this quote by Steve Rizzo. “Never use your words to describe a challenging situation. Rather use your words to change your perspective on a challenging situation.”


I will be the first admit that I have found myself traveling down the road with a negative attitude. By default, your brain will always swing to the negative. That is why you have to make a conscious effort to change the lens you are looking at your life through.

Change your thoughts-change your life.

I am not saying that you can never have negative feelings. I am a huge advocate for acknowledging your feelings. You have every right to feel the way you do. But here is where the road shifts. How long are you going to allow yourself to feel that way? Some people live their whole lives with a negative attitude. Acknowledge how your feeling (awareness) and then ask yourself:

What can I do differently so that my emotions can shift?

Asking yourself what you can do differently is a powerful Attitude Adjustment tool. This puts the power in your mind and hands to make a change rather than waiting for the external situation or someone else to change it for you.

Which lens do you choose to look through your life with today? Do you need an Attitude Adjustment?


What attitude are you bringing to yourself? Your life? Others?

Look through the different areas of your life and decide if you need to make an Attitude Adjustment. (personal development, spiritual awareness, fun& enjoyment, relationships, health & wellness, personal finances, career, and family.)

How do you want to feel about that area of your life?

What can you do differently to shift your emotions about this area of your life?
